While on a family vacation in Breckenridge, CO. I found myself at the McCullough Gulch Trailhead in the middle of the night. I was there because I wanted to get as high as possible that morning, before the sun rose, for an epic sunrise photo. I found that spot with about an hour to spare. Once I found the spot and stopped moving, I quickly realized I was dressed inadequately for the cold. I found myself doing jumping jacks to stay warm. I kept telling myself, great images sometimes take great effort to capture. Ever since that morning, I knew I needed to do this more often. When I got home from this adventure I started to search for my next adventure. Enter the Pacific Crest Trail.
